Blessed Fate

ebook erotica review lady porn rock star

Colton Bradford never believed in love at first sight. And then, Rain Maxwell walked through his buddy's front door. He knew there was something special underneath the shy, guarded exterior and was determined to find out what it was.

The problem? Rain had devised her own set of life rules and “Never get involved with a band mate” was right near the top of that list. She allowed Colton into her heart as one of her closest friends, but pushed him away at the mention of anything more.

When tragedy strikes Rain's personal life, Colton is determined to be there for her in whatever way she'll allow. Will she finally open up to him and consider taking things to the next level? Will Colton's ways of trying to bury his feelings for Rain in the past ruin the possibility of a future for them?

Excerpt:
With every mile that passed as I traveled down the Interstate, I questioned whether or not I was crazy for following Rain to her hometown. The only thing that kept me from turning around and heading back to the bus was the fact that, regardless of whether or not the guys would give me bad advice when it came to women, I knew I could trust Emerson to give it to me straight. After all, she had twenty-two years of being a female and was a pretty amazing woman.
Thanks to one colossal dose of second thoughts that led to dinner in a truck stop, it was nearly ten at night when I finally rolled into Lexington. I managed to get lost in a town of fewer than ten thousand people because I wasn't about to stop and ask for directions, couldn't call her, and I'd only been there once before.
I shifted from foot to foot, shifting my duffel bag on my shoulder as I waited for someone to answer the front door. Hearing music coming from the backyard, I was just about to walk around the house when the front door swung open.
“Hey, Colton,” Matt said, extending his hand to me enthusiastically. Okay, apparently our problems haven't made their way to the brothers. This is good. “Didn't know you were coming out this way.” The way he kept looking from me and then towards the sliding door, I wondered if I was interrupting something. He seemed almost as nervous as I felt.
“Is it a bad time?” I asked, not wanting to cause a scene and regretting listening to everyone who told me a surprise trip was a good idea. “I can just...” I pointed to the front door as I inched my way back.
“No, let me go get Maddie for you.” He left me standing in the dark foyer rather than inviting me to the deck where there was obviously some sort of party going on. That did nothing for the anxiety threatening to make me lose my dinner all over the marble floor.
“...I can be friends with whoever I want!” Rain's agitated voice snapped me out of my own thoughts. Who was she talking to? Who was she talking about? Was Matt pissed that I was here? Maybe he did know what was going on.
Even in the dark, I could see Rain's icy glare as she stomped through the house. “Did you need something?”
“We need to talk,” I said quietly, not wanting everyone to be privy to our issues if they weren't already.
“I'm trying to enjoy some time with my brothers, Colt. What's so important that it couldn't wait?” Her arms were crossed tightly against her body, it was obvious she would rather I not be there. Fuck.
“Rain, you're killing me. Can we please go outside and talk?” I motioned to the front door, needing to give us some privacy and knowing we wouldn't get any if we stayed inside. One way or the other, the head games needed to end. If nothing else, we needed to have the fight we couldn't have in front of everyone, so we could get on with our working relationship and not affect the lives of everyone else.
“This really isn't a good time. Why did you come all the way out here? I told you to stay.”
“Please, baby. There's never a good time to talk to you. You won't talk around the guys. Now, you won't talk here, where no one can hear--”
As if hearing myself practically begging her to talk to me wasn't bad enough, I made the mistake of looking up when I heard the sliding door at the back of the house open and then close. I expected it to be one of Rain's brothers coming to make sure everything was okay. Imagine my surprise when it was none other than Garrett, the same friend she had gone out with three times the last time she was home, and now, here he was the same night she got back to town. The pounding in my ears was deafening as my blood pressure rose.
My jaw clenched so tightly I could barely speak. “Guess I know why you didn't want me here. So much for nothing going on, huh?”
“Fuck you, it's not like that,” she screeched as she started pacing back and forth in the small space. “I told you before, he's a friend. That's it.”
“Yeah, a friend who you're here drinking with. A friend you went out with several times the last time you were here. A friend you've admitted had feelings for you.” I tried to steady my breath, to tamp down the bitterness I felt seeing Garrett in her house.
She shook her head furiously before finally responding. “And you really wonder why things didn't work? He's. A. Friend. Take a look at my life. The closest thing I have to a female friend is Angie and I barely know her. I get along better with guys. Whether you like it or not, that's a fact of life.”
“I should go.” I reached behind me to open the front door, but Rain grabbed my other hand, stopping me in my tracks.

I get worried when I read a book from the males pov after reading the original from the females thinking its just going to repeat the story I already know - never happens I swear I have to stop thinking like this. This book was almost a whole new story! Of course it touches on the same events but from a completely different view. There was so much I didn't know about Colton and Maddie's relationship. I had know idea what was going on with Tanya that it was kind of a shock to me. Colton did a lot for Maddie that we didn't get to see in "Blessed Tragedy" . I felt for Colton in some situations that I was pissed off at him for in "Blessed Tragedy". Some hot sex scenes -nothing too detailed or raunchy. Fabulous ending.

From the instant Kellen hears Dawn’s latest musical composition, his spirits rise. The stirring melody and the remarkable woman responsible for its creation are impossible to resist. I love this series. I do hope that we get to see where all these couples end up one day!

Dawn & Kellen are made for each other now Dawn just has to get Sara out of his head. It's going to be a long road but well worth it in the end. One Long hot juicy juicy steamy night.

This Love Blog Tour Stop & Give Away

ebook erotica new release lady porn

She wants a summer job and a ride to a wedding.

He wants an assistant and a distraction from the mess his life had become.

They didn’t know they needed each other.

Avery Emili needs two grand. Two grand and a plane ticket–her sister is counting on her to get to Jamaica for her wedding. But the semester is over, and tutoring college freshman and high school students has dried up until the fall.

Atticus Grimes needs help–the messy split with his wife left the twenty-eight year old professor scrambling to keep things together as the semester winds down. Now he’s got a research grant he has to actually do research for and all he wants to do is drown himself in a tall bottle of bourbon.

When Avery sees his ad for an assistant, all she’s thinking is a summer job. But as they spend time together, in the office and out, both of them begin to realize something is there. Something that can’t happen–he’s a professor and she’s a student. And both of them have histories, pasts that won’t let go. Can two broken people pulled apart by expectations find a way to be whole?

Excerpt:

That wasn't supposed to happen—she was supposed to be fun, distracting, something to get help me get my shit together.
This—this is so not what I need.
"Atticus?" she asks, softly, like she's approaching a skittish animal. I blink at her. "What are you thinking?"
It's on the tip of my tongue, to tell her. I swallow the urge and the words. "Coffee," I say, hoarsely. "I need more coffee."
Her eyebrows dart up, but she doesn't call me on the lie—my cup is full.
When I come back with a fresh cup of coffee that I don't need, I've shoved the realization aside and buried it for the moment.
"So my trip."
I look at her. "What about it?"
"I think you should come with me."
Her words, on the heels of my own realization, slam into me. All I can picture is Avery on a white sand beach, her hair blowing in the wind. Me at her side.
"Your family is going to be there," I say dully.
"Yes, well. It's a wedding. Family is sorta expected," she says tartly, and I grin.
"Avery, I—"
"Look, don't overthink this," she says, her voice rushed. "I already paid for it. Daddy ordered the plane tickets. And frankly, I thought it'd be fun. We know that there's an expiration date on this relationship. So I thought, why not? Get a tan, swim in the ocean, watch my sister get married, and get drunk to avoid the great aunts who want to know why I'm not married yet."
There's a hitch in her tone when she says that last thing, like she's trying to control a strong emotion. Which doesn't make sense—she's never made an indication that she even wants to get married.

I love Atticus- who couldn't love someone with a name like that right?
His best friend Dane seemed to get under my skin as well.  I got a few surprises in this book- Nik was one, really wasn't expecting her to as drop dead beautiful not to mention what she did to Atticus. Avery she just is the girl next door- the kind of girl that is beautiful but doesn't know it or flaunt it. What Josh did to her I didn't see coming either. There story is all about finding love when you least except it or even want it which turns out to be one sticky situation. Lots hot juicy sex scenes.
Great ending but I won't lie I totally want to know more about what the future holds for Atticus & Avery.

**********

This book sucked me in right away! Dale is pretty awesome the way she gives it back to Kyran. It was plain to see how Kyran felt about Dale but I don't think Dale saw it- which of course lead to a lot of heart break. There is more going on than just Dale & Kyran he has a lot of family issues. I think a spin off story about his Brother would be fabulous. Lots of hot juicy steamy sex. Fabulous ending and a Rocking Epilogue.

Excerpt:

No one calls me. Nik used to, but her calls ended months ago. My sister emails me; the only time my phone rings is when Dane is checking on me. But he's here, so what the hell?
My phone rings again, a different number.
I answer it. "Who is this?"
"I'm calling about the job you listed on Craigslist."
The girl's voice is like warm scotch, sliding around me with just the hint of a bite, and even in the midst of my hangover, I can't help the surge of interest. Then her words make it through the Jaeger induced fog and I groan.
"I'm going to kill Dane." I mutter.
"Excuse me?" She sounds startled and a little amused, and I flush.
"Look, sweetheart, my roommate is being a dick. I'm sorry."
"You don't need a research assistant? Because I'm actually really good at this and I have better qualifications than most people."
Her voice. God, it's too early—that has to be part of the reason I'm getting aroused just listening to her talk. "What kind of qualifications?"
"I'm a double major—history, with a specialty in ancient civilizations, and secondary education. I planned on spending the summer researching graduate schools."
"You should stick with that," I advise.
"Can't. And I don't really want to spend the summer waiting tables—although I will."
There's something about her voice that makes me think she's telling the truth. And it tells me something about her: she's serious. There's a work ethic I don't often see in undergraduates, and it makes me pause.
"I'm sorry," she says, sounding frazzled—I can hear a male voice in the background—and music and laughter. "You said it's not really a position. I'll let you go. Get back to your morning."
"Wait," I say, startling both of us into silence. What the hell am I doing? "How about you meet me, and we'll talk. It can't hurt, right?"
She hesitates, and then, "Look, I'm not trying to do a job that doesn't exist. I appreciate it, though."
"Coffee. Please. Just to talk about it."
"Ok," she says, reluctance clear in her tone. "Hill of Beans at five?"
I nod. "I'll see you then."
We hang up, and I stare at my phone. What the hell am I doing?

The Future of the ROUGH RIDERS
Slick from Guilty Pleasures:  Since I just finished reading Redneck Romeo about the last McKay man standing, Dalton, I have to ask who will be the focus of book 16 and is that truly the end?  Because I have to tell you having Ky driving and into girls is going to open up a whole can of worms about when the kid's stories are going to be told.
No fun, I know, but no comment on Rough Riders book 16 yet...I'll clue you all in a bit further down the road. I get a bajillion questions about why I'm ending the Rough Riders series at book 16. And yes, I could probably write a second generation of McKays (Love Love Love my readers but you guys are driving me insane with the "When will you write Boone and Sierra's book?! Crazy rabid fans, I keep threatening that if you keep nagging me it'll be...never -- ha ha, yet I'd never do that because I want to know what happens too!) but I've always considered this series a western saga that DOES have an end. I've been fortunate that I've been allowed to write the books how I want, at the pace I want, with the subject matter I want--all with 100% publisher support. That is rare. Since the books have such a great following, there is that mindset to continue to "cash in" on the popularity of the series and characters. But I won't do that because at what point do the new books just become a rehash of the older books? I'd much rather end the series on a high note, at the height of popularity than wait until the series might be considered "tired" and I start to lose readers. Plus, I have lots of ideas, situations, characters and areas to explore in other fictional worlds. I hope readers come along for the ride.
