Laney

“Hello?”

“Zach, don’t say my name,” I choke out, storming across the lot as fast as my shaking legs will carry me.

“What’s wrong? Where’d you-“ his voice comes loud and worried through the phone.

“Don’t say that!” I interrupt, God, how embarrassing. “Can you walk away from everyone and talk to me for a minute? Where no one can hear you.” My voice is nasally and obnoxious, getting on my own nerves.

“Yeah Mom, hang on.” Zach- not a great actor. “Okay Laney, I’m by myself now,” he whispers.

“I’m sorry I bailed on practice, and I’m sorry to bug you now, but I need a Zach of infinite wisdom fix real bad right about now.”

“Let’s pretend I don’t already know what’s up your ass and you go ahead. It’ll give you a chance to vent.”

Alright, so that almost makes me grin.

“Basically, he just hung on that bitch in front of me just to piss me off, and it worked! Seriously? I don’t do that shit to him! Nothing I did was to purposely hurt him. How long did I absolutely torture myself NOT to hurt him Zach, huh? A long ass time!” I come up for air, waiting for him to tell me how right I am while I climb in my truck.

“Laney, you know I love you, right?”

This can’t be good.

“Yes…”

“Then you know it’s with love when I say this.” Dramatic pause that makes my skin crawl. “Get over yourself! I don’t care if he fucked her on the field and asked you to film it. You may not have meant to, but you destroyed that kid. He’s here with no friends, no girl and a new team. Sound familiar? He’s just trying to put one foot in front of the other every day, just like you did. You got your happily ever after, so back the fuck off and let him try to find his.”

Well then. Zach-1. Laney-0.

It hurts, not even gonna pretend it doesn’t, but his words are honest…and absolutely dead on. It angers me at myself for being the cause of such sad, but true words, describing the crushing of my Evan. It’s a lot to think on and I have to do that now, before I cruise right out of control.

“You’re right Zach. That’s why I call you. I’ll always get the straight-up what I need to hear. Thanks.”

“I luv ya Laney. Don’t be mad at me, but much like yourself, don’t ask for my advice if you don’t want it.”

I chuckle, “God, if that isn’t the truth. You’re harsh, but right. I’m not mad, I swear. Now go coach! I’ll talk to ya later.”

“Later Laney.”

I hang up and stare out my windshield, pondering. Zach is right, I’m being a selfish bitch.

I couldn't wait to dive into this book and find out how life played out for Evan. I felt so bad for him starting over for a girl who has moved on. What I loved most about this book is that I went from hating Whitley in "Emerge" to totally loving her in "Embrace"- there was a lot more there than we all knew. Evan my gosh he is the epitome of southern gentlemen & smoking hot too boot. It takes awhile for Evan to figure out his place and there's lots of road bumps along the way. Don't expect hot steamy sex scenes until the end.

Can't wait for Sawyer's story.

Kayla and Madison fall and they fall fast! 

Kayla has been thru so much I'm surprised she lets Madison in as fast as he does. Poor Kayla the hits just keep coming. Madison knows he's has to let Kayla go but it's the most heart wrenching thing ever! A few hot sex scenes nothing detailed. Cliff hanger ending. I hope they find their way back to each other sooner rather than later.

This is the 3rd book in the Mitchell Family Series and I must say I liked the first 2 books.

Now for this book the story line was good I was disappointed with all the Mush.

How many times can you go on about how Miranda & Tyler love each other? I swear it blah blahed about it for a quarter of the book. Then the chapters would go from Savanna's pov to Colt's pov but sometimes they would repeat the scene which I find redundant even know it was from a different pov -maybe because it didn't bring anything new to the table. 

There was some Hot steamy raunchy sex. Good drama and even few life threatening events. I think if a lot of the mush was taken out I would have Loved this book.

Folding Hearts

Colt and Savanna are starting their future together, but Ty is left with no girlfriend, no scholarship, no driver's license, and no hope for happiness. In the first book I was not to fond of Ty he just came off as a real jerk.

When I started reading this book my opinion wasn't changing but the more I read the more I got into Ty's head and I fell in love with him. I think what made me fall in love with him is his love for Bella. A wonderful love story with a couple that has the world against them. Some parts at the end brought tears to my eyes. Lots of hot sex nothing to raunchy.

Fabulous ending but wait there are 2 more books in this series!!

Letting Go

Savanna Tate has loved the same guy since she was 14yrs old. Now she and Tyler are in their second year of college. While Savanna is concentrating on maintaining her high grade point average and academic scholarship, Tyler is busy partying with his frat brothers and screwing around on his girlfriend behind her back. 

Savanna decides they need a break, just so she can focus and maybe change his mind about his priorities. One night at a party Savanna catches Ty in the act and after a heated argument, she leaves. In fear of losing her forever, Tyler steals a car and proceeds to follow her even after he had too much to drink. He loses control of the vehicle and from the injuries of the accident he goes into a coma.

Everyone blames Savanna for Ty's accident. She loses her friends. His family disowns her. She stops being around people and spends most of her time at the hospital waiting for Ty to wake up so that they can start over and have the future she always wanted.

Then his cousin Colt comes back to town to help with the Mitchell family's farm. 

The chemistry between them is electric, but is Savanna willing to let go of Ty to explore her feelings for Colt?

When I read the Prologue I was thinking wow what a Bitch Savanna was doing that to Tyler. Well I should have know that a boy only sees what he wants........he's a douchebag! As the story unfolds I began not to hate Tyler so much but rather feel sorry for him and hope that Savanna can see he for who he truly is. I was so angry about how everyone was so awful to Savanna after Tyler's accident especially his parents it seemed no one could see what really was going on.  When Colt came to town and everything fell into place. It was torture not knowing how Colt and Savanna's relationship was going to play out once Tyler was back and just as I thought it was heart wrenching. Not that all that stuff wasn't enough then Colt has a tragedy that forces Savanna to quickly figure out exactly what she wants. It gets even more messed up for them as Colt has no idea how to deal with the tragedy and may lose Savanna. You will have to read it to find out if he does or not.
Hot Steamy Sex nothing to raunchy! The ending was good.
